Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Remind Notifications (“Remind Notifications,” “we,” “us,” “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, our Shopify app dashboard, and any Remind Notifications scripts/widgets that may load on a merchant’s storefront (together, the “Services”). Remind Notifications is a Shopify app that sends automatic back-in-stock email, SMS, and WhatsApp alerts when out-of-stock items become available again.
This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
Where required by law, we ask for your consent before placing non-essential cookies. You can change your cookie preferences at any time as described in Section 6 (Your Choices).
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website or use an online service. They help services function, remember preferences, and understand how the service is used.
Cookies may be:
Session cookies (deleted when you close your browser), or
Persistent cookies (remain until they expire or you delete them).
We may also use similar technologies (such as pixels, SDKs, local storage, or tag-based scripts) that work in comparable ways.
2. Where we use cookies
Cookies and similar technologies may be used in these places:
Our website (e.g., marketing pages, docs, support pages).
Our Shopify app dashboard (embedded in Shopify Admin or accessed via app URLs) for login/session, security, and settings.
Merchant storefront widgets/scripts (e.g., back-in-stock signup forms or components powered by Remind Notifications), where enabled by the merchant.
Important note about Shopify: When you use the app within Shopify Admin, Shopify may also set cookies as part of its platform and authentication. Those cookies are controlled by Shopify and governed by Shopify’s policies.
3. Cookie categories we use
We use the following categories of cookies (and similar technologies):
A) Strictly Necessary
These are required for the Services to work and generally cannot be switched off in our systems.
Typical uses include:
authentication and session management (e.g., keeping you logged in),
security and fraud/abuse prevention,
load balancing and page navigation,
saving cookie consent choices.
B) Functionality
These cookies help remember choices and provide enhanced features.
Typical uses include:
remembering preferences (e.g., language, region, UI settings),
preserving form inputs during a session.
C) Performance / Analytics
These cookies help us understand how the Services are used so we can improve performance and reliability. Data is typically aggregated and used for statistical purposes.
Examples may include:
which pages/features are used most,
how users move through the app,
error monitoring and performance measurement.
We may use analytics providers (for example, Google Analytics or other product analytics tools). The exact tools can change over time depending on our configuration.
D) Targeting / Advertising (if enabled)
These cookies may be used to measure marketing performance and show relevant ads on other sites.
Examples may include:
tracking the effectiveness of campaigns,
limiting how often you see an ad,
building audiences for advertising platforms.
If we use advertising pixels (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Pixel), they may be loaded on our marketing website. We do not install advertising cookies on merchant storefronts unless the merchant has separately implemented their own marketing tools or explicitly enabled optional features that require them.
4. Third-party cookies and technologies
Some cookies are set by third parties when you use the Services (for example, analytics, performance monitoring, customer support tools, or advertising platforms). We do not control third-party cookies directly, and their use is governed by the third parties’ own privacy/cookie policies.
Depending on how the Services are configured, third parties may include:
Shopify (especially within Shopify Admin),
analytics and performance providers,
customer support/chat providers,
advertising/measurement platforms (on our marketing site, if used).
Note: Cookie names, durations, and providers can vary and may change over time.
5. Merchant storefronts (end-customer context)
If a merchant installs Remind Notifications widgets/scripts on their storefront, cookies or similar technologies may be used to:
make the subscription form work reliably,
prevent abuse (e.g., repeated signups or bot activity),
remember basic preferences within a session,
attribute a signup to a storefront session (where applicable).
In many cases, the merchant is the primary party responsible for storefront cookie disclosures to their customers. If you are a merchant, you should ensure your storefront cookie/consent setup reflects any Remind Notifications widgets you enable.
6. Your choices
You can control cookies in several ways:
Cookie banner / consent settings (if available): Use our on-site settings to accept or reject non-essential cookies.
Browser settings: Most browsers let you delete or block cookies.
Advertising opt-outs (where available):
Google Ads settings: [Insert link]
Your Online Choices / DAA opt-out: [Insert link]
NAI opt-out: [Insert link]
Please note: blocking some cookies may affect functionality and your experience (for example, staying signed in or saving preferences).
7. Updates to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law, or our practices. We will update the “Last Updated” date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice through the Services.
